How To Design Like A Pirate

When I was a kid I used to play lego with my mates and how Id build my Rocket Ship, Boat Robot, What Have You.. was  to spend the a heap of time collecting all the rad parts first then build. Ive always be fascinated with creating things from different things.
Which is also the process of how I shape various different references into my tattoo concept designs into rendered stencils. This is a lower leg piece; ‘The Mad Hatters Tea Party’ which currently has 15 or so different images positioned around to generate a desired scene.

I use Adobe Photoshop to aid in my designing. Ive found it takes out some of the guess work with positional and what not. This picture may undergo several changes from now until completion but this is the general gist of it.
It is by no means how other tattoo artist work, this is just my preferred way of drawing things up that I discovered, its just what Im comfortable with. I also do freehand work, which can also be aided with computer sketch up.
